In my lab we purify natural photosystems (photosystem I and photosystem II) and other proteins involved in the photosynthetic process, e.g. ferredoxin and ferredoxin-NADP Reductase (FNR) from a thermophilic cyanobacterium (Mastigocladus laminosus) grown in 55 °C. The purified complexes/proteins are transferred to Prof. Itamar Willner laboratory where they are used as the light harvesting and electron transfer components of photovoltaic or hydrogen producing cells
